I believe RLM is making the same mistake producers do nowadays, that is thinking that people go to the movies to look at stunning visuals instead of being told a story through VISUAL MEANS. A mistake that is easy to make if you lack certain intellectual qualities, since the masses are unable to acknowledge or express it themselves.
The new cohort of creators that must rise to the challenge will need to understand this.
